Guy’s and St Thomas’ has a wealth of experience in developing a range of partnerships with the private sector and NHS organisations. Working together, we deliver service models which aim to promote greater efficiencies and quality in the services that we offer and ultimately improve patient care. Partnerships include public-private, joint ventures, sub-contracts and management agreements.
As one of the largest NHS foundation trusts in the UK, a partnership with us offers commercial organisations:
- an intimate understanding of the NHS and how it operates
- expertise and in-depth knowledge of the regulatory systems governing health and social care in the UK and how to navigate them
- access to world class facilities and clinical expertise
- strong links with academia and research through King’s Health Partners, one of only six Academic Health Science Centres in the UK as well as the Health Innovation Network and the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre.
Examples of existing partnerships include:
Working with Diaverum to run two renal satellite units in Sidcup and Forest Hill, providing a managed service and dialysis nursing for patients with long-term kidney disease, allowing them to receive care closer to home. This long established partnership has been so successful that we have recently extended the contract for a further 10 years.
Working with the Linde Group’s REMEO to deliver a respiratory satellite unit in east Surrey. This specialist unit supports complex respiratory patients who require long-term mechanical ventilation or weaning from mechanical ventilation.
